Our lifeboats

Welcome to the Penlee Lifeboat Station Website

New Document

Penlee Lifeboat Station is located in Newlyn Harbour, Cornwall. We have a very rich heritage as we are descendent from the first Lifeboat Station in Cornwall (Penzance Branch) and the thirteenth Lifeboat station in the UK. Our volunteer crew number approx. 25 with another 10 volunteer shore crew and our volunteer branch and fundraisers total in excess of 35.

We have 2 lifeboats at Penlee, an All Weather Severn Class, 'The Ivan Ellen', stationed in 2003 and an Inshore B-Class Atlantic 85, 'The Mollie and Ivor Dent', stationed in 2016.

We do welcome visitors to our station, however we cannot accept any at present as our facilities are restricted due to COVID-19 safety measures. This ensures that our service can continue safely for the crews and volunteers and also for the people we rescue.

During these unprecedented times, we have been unable to hold any fundraising events, our service relies on contributions, so please consider donating to the RNLI, use the link on the left to donate online.Thank you
